HOWEVER, I now appreciate that in the second tier of my cataloguing of the jpg files as above, I also 'tagged' the individual people in those jpg files. In XnView MP, those tags appear as 'Keywords'.
#XNVIEWMP TAGGING SOFTWARE#
Pardon my flawed information re my two issues.įirst issue: using software (name escapes me) that is no longer supported by Microsoft, I have catalogued my 10k+ jpg files by applying 'tags' of functions/evets etc eg tags of 'meetings', 'holidays', 'family' and the like. My Question is: can the old data ie the tags of events/functions be migrated into the Catagory fields using XnView MP and, likewise, can the names of the people tagged into the files also be migrated into the Keywords field in XnView.Ī related query is.where I have entered 'Catagory' into the files into XnView.can I select a range of picture files and alter the 'Catagory' information?Ĭapture importing tags into xnview.PNG (7.9 KiB) Viewed 2124 times
#XNVIEWMP TAGGING PLUS#
I have begun the arduous task of entering 'catagories' (ie events\function information eg 'birthday' dinner dance' football match' and the like) into XnView one file at a time PLUS I have begun entering 'keywords' into the XnView files of the people within the pictures, also - one file at a time. See the attachment is an example supporting mu query. Additionally, I have also 'tagged' the pictures with the names of the people within the picture\s. |Some pictures will have multiple such tags. XnView MP supports more than 500 image formats (including Multipage and animated still formats APNG, TIFF, GIF, ICO, etc.) and export to about 70 different file formats.I have around 15k+picture (jpg) files and the files have been 'tagged' with event/function information eg 'birthday' 'dinner dance' football match' and the like. With the above to consider and much more to discover about what XnView MP can offer, it's safe to say that it is indeed a feature packed media viewing and cataloging application. And since XnView MP is capable of working with large amounts of files, this means that you can save plenty of time when it comes to organizing your files.
The biggest difference between XnView and XnView MP is that the latter is optimized for improved performance in loading times and caching. This can be done using single files, or multiple ones in batch mode. Here, you are able to analyze its histogram, resize and crop it, as well as apply various enhancement filters.Īll the images you edit, as well as others that are simply chosen can be converted to popular formats such as JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, BMP, PCX and TGA. Double clicking a picture automatically opens it in the editor.
You can change the size of the preview thumbnails, compare images and even edit them. Just like its counterpart, XnView MP provides a wide range of ways to view files.
This comes in very handy when you want to create your own layout and speed up your workflow.
#XNVIEWMP TAGGING WINDOWS#
You can dock and rearrange the windows for the folder browser, document info and file preview. The surroundings of that central browser can be fitted with a bunch of other tools. The files are displayed in the central area of the main window and you are able to choose the type of view you want for them. It offers the same stylish and easy to use interface that makes it almost fun to rate, sort and catalog files while still being practical.
XnView MP is an advanced version of Xn5View, which is a powerful and reliable multimedia viewer, manager and converter.
